Parkway Elementary School in Evans due for Completion this summer will relive Greenbrier Elementary of overcrowding. The new School will house about 1000 students the first year. (according to the district’s zoning plans) The $12 million school will take students along William Few Parkway from Columbia Road north to Knob Hill Farm Road, including the Knob Hill Subdivision and Jessica Creek.
New Homes and New Subdivisions are springing up left and right all around the new school as Columbia County continues to burst at the seams with the influx of new residents. While there are many factors that attract people to the once rural area, schools with ratings of excellence continue to be among the top draw. As the number of residents grows, the need for housing, schools and other amenities grows as well and the county continues to work diligently to keep up.
